OK, cheesy title, I know, but the assignments have been handed out and The Biz is ready for the football season. Honestly, I’m quit proud of where The Biz is and am excited to bring you guys football coverage. Jon and I have been saying since we started that football season will be our chance to either make or break this thing. With that said, I think all The Bizzo staffers are ready for the NFL to kick into gear and show you guys what we’re about.
As you have heard in our podcasts and on the site, we were on a bit of a hiring spree these past few weeks to get our writer total up to 8, and this past week we added the final two guys, Shay and Brandon. Jon and I are excited about them because we’ve known them for so long, and they’ll add a lot flavor to The Bizzo. Brandon, whose appetite for booze, hookers and gambling will be our Hunter S. Thompson and cover the NFC West. Shay, who has never been wrong once in his life, will be covering the AFC East. Eric “Tits” Ariola will be in the AFC West. EMAN will follow Vince Young over in the AFC South. Ted, when he recovers from Favre leaving, will be up in the NFC North, while Christian will be in the AFC North. Lastly, Jon will be heading up the coverage for the NFC South, and I’ll be on the NFC East.
I’m thinking we should do some sort of pool, where the writer whose team wins the Super Bowl gets the pot.
Since college football is what it is, we’re allowing it to be open season. The Elite 8 of Bizzo writers will be handling all of college football, and you should just expect a lot of Longhorns talk over the season from EMAN, Ted and Jon. Since I’m out West, I’ll be sprinkling in some Pac-10 articles, as well as some flavors of the week. Let’s be honest, I’ll just be looking at photos of cheerleaders.
Big things are in development at The Bizzo. Jon and I had our first in-person meet-up yesterday in Austin, and discussed the future of The Biz. I don’t want to say anything, but we’re in agreement on a merger of sorts with a popular sports blog. Again, I’ll not say anything, because you never know what could happen. The thing is, we’re just beside ourselves that we’ve been noticed.
Additionally, The Bizzo will be working overtime to make sure you guys are connected in every way possible. We’ll be launching our MySpace, Facebook and everything else we can to feed you Biz 24-7. As always you can sign up with our Twitter updates here - http://twitter.com/TheSportsBizzo. If you’re interested in joining The Sports Bizzo Fantasy Football League, let us know (TheSportsBizzo@gmail.com). We’ll be creating the league this week. Lots of people will join, and it should be a minimal cost of $20.
Lastly, if you have any questions, comments or recommendations, then shoot us an email at TheSportsBizzo@gmail.com.
Late.
