I was talking with a friend at work the other day, a Phillies fan, I guess the night of the postponed game 5, about whether baseball would actually end a World Series on a rain-shortened game. We both decided that it would be an utter travesty if the MLB braintrust allowed that to happen. He, as the Phillies fan, really wanted to see them win a completely legit series, instead of winning a tainted Series that would be questioned and ridiculed ... Read More

"Down the Stretch," the official drink of the 2008 Breeders' Cup is phenomenal. It's Grey Goose vodka, lemon-lime soda, cranberry juice and sweet and sour mix, which is then shaken a bit, then add blue curacao. Lastly, it's garnished with 2 grapes, and a slice of lemon. I lost count after my 10th one, and someone where in between I became awesome.
The Saturday morning of the 25th Breeders' Cup started out shaky. We arrived early only to find out that we ... Read More

Alright, Bizzoers, what the hell's going on here? Deuce McAllister, Charles Grant, and Will Smith, along with a few other players, have all tested positive for the diuretic Bumetanide, which belongs to a subset of medicines known as water pills. (Official Story)
That's rough. That's a lot of people. And apparently it can result in up to a four game suspension, which would be particularly awesome for the Saints because that's like half the good players on their defense. And Deuce was ... Read More

The Phillies and the Rays are getting ready to start their battle for the World Series championship tonight at lovely Tropicana Field (seriously, have you ever considered the stadium's named after orange juice?), with Cole Hamels going for the Phils, and Scott Kazmir for the Rays.
Honestly? I have no idea who to pick. It's like picking between Hayden Panettiere and Julianne Hough. They're both sexy, young, and hot. You just want to be on both of them.
The Phils should be well ... Read More

At first I was excited.
The idea of having two Roy Williams on the same team made me giddy. My friends and I used to build our Madden teams around having both O-Roy and D-Roy. One of them was the hardest hitting safety on the game, and the other, an impossible-to-cover 6'5" gazelle of a wide receiver. How could you possibly go wrong?
And then it occurred to me. This isn't 2005. And this ain't a video game.
And the Cowboys of 2008 are ... Read More

Finally, I get to talk about one of my favorite things, horse racing.
It's crazy that it's already been a year since we traveled to Monmouth Park to see the 2007 Breeders' Cup challenge. Last year's Cup was pretty extraordinary, as the family had two horses participating in the events, Irish Smoke and Dream Rush. This year there's no horses, which isn't a bad thing. We don't have to hold ourselves to any sort of standards, as we're not representing integrity and ... Read More

Well, it's officially happened. Romo has ruined my life. Not only has he turned my 2 of my favorite things into complete shit. My fantasy team is done, and it's his fault. Final Final blows and it's his fault.
A Rams fan (who's at Final Final every week) bought Ryan and I drinks on Sunday because he felt bad for us. Let me repeat that: He felt bad for us. Us. Cowboys fans. A Rams fan felt bad for us. So he ... Read More

This week Toph and Jon discuss the crazy 48 hours of the Dallas Cowboys, Major League 2, Texas football and Fantasy Football. Shockingly, it's a much better podcast than I've made it seem. Just listen.

What a crazy weekend it turned out to be, and we'll get into it soon, but first let's talk Jessica Simpson. Yes, I'm still blaming all of this on Jessica Simpson. By this point I'm sure you've heard that Romo is out 4 weeks with a broken pinkie. Diabla woke me up early this morning, on my day off mind you, to share the news. About an hour later the texts came in from everyone I know across the country. Romo ... Read More

Damnit, Pacman. Damnit, damnit, damnit... What have you done?
I've read all the reports and watched all the coverage, and I'm sure it's not nearly as big a deal as people are making it out, but...
Come on, dude, your own bodyguard? He's an off-duty police officer. Somehow you managed to get the cops called when they were already there.
I guess I just don't get you.
You're a supremely talented athlete who's been given a ... Read More
